Theatre Nite

We went for a musical last night - Thursday. A funny thing happened on the way to the forum - a production of the OSU theatre Dept. This is set in Rome in 1 AD. I liked the sets and the costumes. The musical was fun. Some actors performed really well. Overall it was a good play. Nothing extraordinary, nothing cerebral. Plain fun.
Sometimes that is all one needs ... plain fun.
Before the play we ate at Joseppi's. An Italian restaurant here in Stillwater. It is a Stillwater landmark. Great food but limited vegetarian options. I satisfied my cravings for Lasagna and Raghu had bow tied pasta with grilled vegetables.
Overall an enjoyable evening!!!

Child Care Class

We had a new born care class last night. We learnt how to swaddle the baby or burrito wrap the baby. I will not be eating burritos for a long long time. How to give a sponge bath and various other important issues. The nurse conducting the class said that the first bath will take atleast 2 hrs and four adults!!! Now I am looking forward to that:) Raghu found that really amusing. Let's see how amused he is when we have to bathe the baby.
It was an interesting class and we did learn a lot. We also got to watch a video. It is always fun to chat with other expectant mothers.
Yesterday was a gorgeous day. Another beautiful Oklahoma day. I did spend a few hours outdoors. Went to a smoothie bar and had a veggie monster. A mix of green onions, carrot, red cabbage and much more.
Today has been dull and grey. We are expecting some storms to move in later.
I did get my one hour of walking done and the day has been very frutiful.
My father -in-law will be here on Saturday. We are thrilled and are looking forward to his visit.

Baby Shower for Baby Raghuram

Last evening I had a Baby Shower. I still find it hard to believe. It was a great party. Thank you Leticia for doing this for me. The food was awesome. What a spread she put up. And the folks were really generous with the gifts. Raghu and I had a great time. So did the baby!!!

Here is one with Anahita. She turned one in February 07. Her dad is also a mathematician just like our baby's dad!!! She is a really beautiful baby.

Thank you all once again.

Wet and Cold

It has been raining like crazy here.Thunderstorms and some really small sized hail. No major damage like in Dallas. We did loose power in the night. Did not bother us though since we were asleep. Then how did I know you ask? Well, I got up to go to the toilet. Yes, It happens more frequently these days. I have lost count. When we woke up in the morning the power was back on. It has been gloomy all Friday long. But I guess the farmers need the rain. So does our yard. Hopefully the weather will improve in the coming days and one can get to spend time outdoors.

My niece who will be three this May got her ears pierced. She cried of course. Poor thing. Her dad (my little brother) cried too. That is what he said!!! She looks cuter than ever. After all the drama she wanted to give the jeweller a piece of her mind for causing her so much pain!!! Now she just can't stop looking at her self in the mirror and admiring her beautiful self.

Niki I miss you and love you!!!

34 weeks

I had a checkup today. Now I get to see the doctor every two weeks. Another 6 more weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a routine checkup. Heard the heart beat also got to feel the legs of the baby. Amazing. Every day is a beautiful day. I cannot find words to describe this beautiful feeling. All looks and feels good. I like it that way. I do feel a bit more tired than usual which I guess is normal.
I broke a cardinal rule on Sunday. Easter Sunday. I do not deep fry at home. I just do not. Don't ask why. But on Sunday I crumbled under pressure:) I made puris. God... why are deep fried foods so delicious??? Tell me why? Made chole to go with the puris.Prefect Sunday meal. Yum!!! I guess I will relish these as long as I can.

Jazz Concert

We had the pleasure of listening to a Jazz master on Friday in concert. Slide Hampton, a world class trombone player, composer, arranger ... jazz musician par excellence. It was an amazing evening. A wonderful experience to listen to some live jazz. He played along with some wonderful Jazz ensembles. A talented lot of musicians from OSU. The concert was held at the Seretean Concert Hall. It was packed. Didnot know that Stillwater had such a large jazz following.
Two hrs of fabulous jazz. Got to listen to some standards like Walkin', When the Lights are Low, Cherokee, Blue'n' Boogie, Stardust and Lover come back to me.
What a way to spend the Friday nite. After the concert there was a small reception. German chocolate cake and fruit punch. Oooh lala.
If you like to listen to jazz all day/night all you need to do is log on to www.kcck.org
An amazing team of people work hard to bring some world class jazz and blues. Yes, this is the same station that I had the pleasure of being associated with in Iowa. They are the only full time jazz station in the mid west. Three Cheers to the folks at KCCK. I miss them all.
